September opens on a tense note. While the dust of August’s eclipse season begins to settle, we head straight into one of the more challenging transits of the year: Mars in Cancer square Saturn in Aries on September 1st. This is an agitating energy, pick your words and your battles wisely. If you’re going to fight, know what you’re fighting for.

On September 10th, we have the Virgo New Moon. On the same day, Venus leaves her home sign of Libra and enters Scorpio, where she will station retrograde in early October. Mercury also leaves their home sign of Virgo and enters Libra. A new moon in the sign of Virgo is a time to invite in clarity and refinement. What in your life needs a good edit and what practical steps can you take towards making that happen.

On September 15, Venus squares Pluto. This transit can bring up power dynamics in relationships or unearth hidden feelings that deserve your attention.

Chiron, the wounded healer, returns to Aries on September 17th to write the epilogue to the story around healing that was most active from February 2019 to June of 2026. People with important placements in late Aries will feel this the most. Mars will poke this bruise on September 27th; notice what, if anything, triggers you in late September.

On September 18th, Mercury in Libra faces off against Saturn in Aries. This is another tense energy and communication might be strained or misunderstood in ways that creates conflict. If this is the case for you, try putting on a little charm and offering a compromise.

Libra season officially begins on September 22. Happy birthday Libras! (Happy birthday to the September Virgos as well <3) Libra is for lovers so compliment everyone you pass on the street and fall in love with yourself as often as possible for the next four weeks.

On September 26th, we have the Aries Full Moon and, let me tell you, this one has got depth and intensity due to the number of slow moving planets involved. Transformative Pluto is configured exactly to both the Sun and Moon while the Moon sits between dissolving Neptune and structured Saturn. This is intense energy and we will probably see rumblings on the global stage with themes that rhyme with this signature. Personally, this intensity might show up as a conflict with another person. Reality might be pretty distorted with so much Neptune in the mix here so give it at least three days (if not a full month) to gain a bit more clarity before jumping to any conclusions.

On September 27th, Mars finishes wading through our emotional landscape in Cancer before entering expressive Leo, where Mars is considerably more comfortable. But before Mars can make this shift, he forms a square to Chiron at the final degree of Aries. Big feelings, old wounds, and huge potential for healing will likely arise today. Give yourself grace, and give grace to everyone around you as will all be experiencing this triggering transit

Finally, the month ends with Mercury joining Venus in Scorpio on September 30th. Mercury in penetrating Scorpio is good for getting to the bottom of a rabbit hole, writing cryptic poetry about your secret lover, and receiving subtle messages in what isn’t said. This is also the day I am leading ASTRO 101 - a beginners astrology workshop! If you’d like to harness this transit to fall down an astrology rabbit hole with me, register under “Ticketed Events” at this link!
